Description: Maker: England's iconic china maker Royal Worcester produced this beautiful antique cup and saucer set. Marks: A magenta Royal Worcester mark over a star is on both pieces. The star on the Royal Worcester mark came into use in 1916. From 1917 onward, a dot was added to the mark for each year. Source: Museum of Royal Worcester. Age: Both pieces have the star and 10 dots, dating the set precisely to 1926. Design: The gold-trimmed pattern features a beautiful yellow band accented with tiny colored enamels against a white background. The pattern number C1896 is handwritten on both pieces. Size: The saucer is 4 inches wide. The cup is 2 1/4 inches wide and 2 3/8 inches tall. The set weighs 3.5 ounces. Condition: The saucer is in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or wear. The cup has faint crazing throughout - examples are shown in the photos with the red arrows and it is visible in other photos. There is a small nick under the gold paint on the handle. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
